Use email or your existing STATIC account

Financial records are private to the verified owner. Finance has no founder or other-user financial-data browsing mode. The public demo contains sample records dated October 24, 2026; its changes stay in memory for the visit and are not saved into your account. No Network subscription is required.

  1. Open Finance and choose Open your Finance. Use your existing STATIC account, or sign up directly with email and confirm it. A Network handle, public profile and membership are not required.
  2. Add an account nickname, type, current balance and balance date. Enter card and loan balances as positive amounts owed.
  3. Add transactions or import a CSV statement. Use your month selector to review a specific month.

Understand the amounts

The workspace is USD only and does not convert currencies. Income is money earned, expenses are spending, refunds reduce spending, and transfers are excluded from income and expense totals. Use a positive transaction amount and choose the correct type. Do not label transfers or refunds as income.

Monthly cash flow is recorded income minus recorded expenses plus refunds. It is not a spendable bank balance. Budget remaining is the category limit minus recorded net spending. Partial or out-of-date records produce a partial picture.

Net worth is entered checking, savings, cash and investment balances minus card and loan amounts owed. Balances are dated manual snapshots. Transactions and statement imports do not update them. Goal progress is manually entered and is not added to net worth again.

Import a CSV statement

The original file is read in your browser and is not uploaded or retained. Only reviewed transaction fields are saved. Keep bank credentials, routing numbers and full account numbers out of record names and descriptions. A combined signed amount column is required; separate debit/credit columns must be combined before import.

Matching uses account, date, normalized merchant description, amount, type and identical-row occurrence count. Re-importing the same rows skips matches. Repeated identical rows within one file remain separate occurrences. Overlapping exports that split identical transactions, or bank exports with changed descriptions, still need your review. Editing an imported record preserves its original import identity. Deleting it permits a later re-import. Imported transactions stay with their original account. To correct the account, delete the incorrect imported rows and re-import into the right account.

  1. From Transactions or Accounts choose Import statement. Use a CSV or tab-separated file under 1 MB, with a header and 1–500 rows. It needs a date, description and combined signed amount column.
  2. Select your destination account. Match the columns, choose YYYY-MM-DD, MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY, and say whether negative or positive amounts represent spending. Use four-digit years.
  3. Check the preview against your statement, especially date order and signs. Unknown category names become Other. Correct refund and transfer types after import.
  4. Fix invalid rows in your source or explicitly choose to exclude them. Confirm the preview and import reviewed transactions.

Recurring charges and upcoming bills

Add your own weekly, monthly or yearly bills and subscriptions. The next due date is the schedule anchor. The 30-day outlook repeats the anchor forward, keeping monthly dates at month end when needed. It is an estimate, not proof of payment. For a bill due on the final day of every month, choose the last-day monthly option.

Suggestions require at least three similar expenses with regular timing in your entered history. Review amount, merchant, cadence, kind and next date before adding. Different amounts, sparse history and changing merchant descriptions may prevent detection. You can always enter a schedule yourself.

Pausing or deleting a schedule does not cancel the merchant service. Finance does not cancel subscriptions, negotiate bills, contact merchants or make payments.

Budgets, goals and limits

Set one limit per category per month. Choose a budget to edit or delete it. The unbudgeted-spending list helps show categories outside the selected month’s plan.

Create a goal with a target and manually update the amount already saved. The target date is optional. This tracks your progress only; no funds are reserved, held or moved.

Each workspace supports up to 30 accounts, 5,000 transactions, 100 recurring schedules, 600 category-month budgets and 50 goals. Imports support up to 500 rows at a time. Account deletion requires moving or deleting its transactions first. If another tab changes Finance, refresh and review before saving again.

Export and delete

Your data offers a full-workspace JSON export and a transaction CSV. Exports contain private financial details. Keep them in a private location. The JSON export is a portable record; automatic JSON restore is not included in this release.

To erase Finance records, first export any copy you need, type DELETE FINANCE, and confirm. Accounts, transactions, schedules, budgets and goals are removed. The STATIC identity and other products remain. A minimal revision and request-limit record remains to prevent stale writes from restoring deleted data; it does not contain your removed financial records.

Current release boundaries

Manual entries and CSV statements work now. Bank syncing, credit reports, automatic savings, transfers, bill payments, cancellation and negotiation are not available. There is no bank-data provider session or access to bank credentials in this release.

Check your statements and manually update balance snapshots. Finance organizes records you supply; it does not verify balances or provide personalized investment, tax or credit advice.

Bank syncing and STATIC Pro

Bank syncing is planned as a future STATIC Pro membership benefit. Manual entries, CSV imports and the current Finance tools are available free now. Bank syncing is not live, cannot be purchased here, and no launch date has been set.

Live connections need an activated bank-data provider, supported institutions, user consent and a verified transaction refresh path. A Stripe payments account does not by itself establish Financial Connections transaction access. Pro membership billing and bank connections are not activated by this announcement.
