What this release covers

Civic is a free, independent services navigator. No STATIC account is required. Coverage includes selected U.S. guidance, the Your Texas Benefits portal and a New York City pilot; it is not a complete directory for every jurisdiction. STATIC is not a government agency.

Find the right official service

As you type, Civic searches its service guides and requests up to 20 live results from USA.gov’s public search. For a state-named query, the separate live section searches the topic nationally and labels that broader scope. These results come from USA.gov and are not a comprehensive index of all government websites.

Your Texas Benefits links to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission portal for food, cash and health benefits. Applications, renewals and case management happen there. Live search always includes routes to the exact USA.gov search, state and territory services and the agency directory. If live search is unavailable or finds no results, these routes remain available. Search terms are sent to USA.gov; do not enter private application details.

  1. Open /civic. Search starts across all covered locations. You can narrow it to U.S. guidance, Texas + U.S. or New York City + U.S.
  2. Search for a need, program or location, such as Texas benefits, SNAP or Medicaid, or select a service category. Clear the search or category to broaden results. Texas and NYC searches prioritize their own coverage alongside relevant U.S. guidance.
  3. Open a service to see its responsible agency, jurisdiction, preparation guidance and next steps.
  4. Use the official-source link to continue on the agency’s website. Confirm current requirements, fees and dates there.

Use a life-event checklist

Choose a life event, such as moving or replacing documents, to see related services. Checkmarks track your own planning progress in the current browser tab’s session. They are not agency confirmations. Checklists do not collect application documents or synchronize to your STATIC account.

When browser storage is unavailable, progress can still be used during the current page visit but may be lost on reload. Use the available reset control to clear checklist progress. Closing the browser tab normally ends its session; a browser’s session-restore feature may restore it.

Applications, eligibility and request status

Civic does not accept applications, collect official payments or submit reports in this release. The responsible agency handles those actions and decides eligibility. Official services may require their own account. A STATIC account does not replace it.

For a request you already made, use the linked official lookup and your agency confirmation number. Civic does not receive or synchronize status. Checklist progress never represents official status.

Alerts, meetings and source changes

Weather, emergency notices, meetings and datasets link to official sources. Civic does not send emergency notifications or display a live feed in this release. For immediate danger in the United States, call 911.

If a source is unavailable or has moved, return to the responsible agency’s official website. Use that agency to confirm current access and information.
