## Enter Office and create a workspace

Open /office to explore the suite. Explore an example opens an illustrative workspace whose edits last for that visit. To keep work, choose Open your workspace and sign in with your existing verified STATIC email account, or create email access and confirm the message in your inbox. No Network subscription is required.

Create a workspace with its name and your display name. Your new real workspace starts empty. Workspace settings lets the owner invite members using single-use links that expire after 24 hours. An invitation grants the chosen role; opening it does not join a workspace until the visitor accepts.

## Docs, Notes and saved versions

Presence shows current viewers while an item is open. Live updates refresh every few seconds. Different structured fields or blocks can merge across simultaneous edits. Incompatible edits to the same content produce a conflict; the local draft stays visible for review or download. Do not assume full character-level co-editing.

Changing an item’s sharing also changes access to its saved history. Only its author changes sharing. Current membership and role checks apply to saved work, file bytes, versions, comments and conversations.

1. Choose Docs or Notes, then New. Give the work a title and choose Only me or Workspace members.
2. Write in structured paragraphs, headings, lists or quotes. Changes save automatically after a short pause. Save now is also available. Wait for All changes saved before navigating away.
3. Use Discussion for comments and Version history to restore an earlier version as a new saved revision. Export Markdown or use browser Print / PDF for a document copy.

## Sheets and Slides

Sheets supports a 30-row, 10-column workbook (A1:J30). Select a cell to edit its raw text or formula. Arithmetic and SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, MIN and MAX over ranges are supported. Invalid formulas and cycles show an error. Import CSV loads a bounded workbook; Export CSV downloads calculated values. XLSX, charts, pivots and external data connectors are not included.

Slides supports up to 30 text slides with titles, body copy and speaker notes. Add slides, choose Present and use the arrows or on-screen Previous/Next controls. Escape exits. Browser Print / PDF creates a shareable print copy. PPTX and advanced media/animation editing are not included.

## Calendar, tasks and meeting plans

Calendar shows workspace events, planned meetings and task due dates. Select a day to create an event, then edit its title, start/end times, location and agenda. Times use your browser’s time zone. External calendar synchronization and repeating events are not included.

Tasks offers list and board views with status, priority, assignee and due date. Link a task to a Project Room to keep it beside the plan and decisions. Meet creates a durable meeting plan with agenda and schedule; real voice/video and screen sharing use the first-party Connect team room.

## Team conversations

In Chat, create a workspace channel by leaving the people selection unchecked, or select workspace members for a private conversation. The creator and selected members can read that conversation. Messages, replies and accessible shared-work attachments stay in their channel. New messages refresh every few seconds while the view is open.

Conversation search filters the latest 200 loaded messages. Only attach work shared with the workspace. Office does not silently copy private files into chat or read private Mail. Viewers can read; commenters and editing roles can participate.

## Team calls in STATIC Connect

Open Meet and choose Check team room. The workspace owner can explicitly create a private Connect group for selected existing workspace members after reviewing the people. This requires the owner and invitees to have their own eligible public Connect profiles / STATIC IDs. No profile is created, invitation accepted, message sent or call started automatically on Office page load.

Invited members review and accept the Connect group invitation. Open team calls in Connect goes to that first-party room, where accepted members can start voice/video calls and screen sharing. Calls run in the foreground and currently support 2–32 accepted members with a 30-minute session limit. The call starter can end the call for everyone.

Office meeting planning is not a persistent conference room. Waiting rooms, captions and recording are not included. Removing an Office member from a connected team requires verified removal from the Connect room first; Office keeps access unchanged if that external removal cannot be confirmed.

## Files, Project Rooms and decisions

Files can include native Office work and uploaded file objects. Open a file object to upload or download private bytes; uploads are limited to 5 MB each and 100 MB per workspace, including retained versions. Folder views list linked work. Move to Trash is recoverable; permanent deletion and retention controls are not yet available.

Project Rooms link the brief, tasks, files, working assets and Decision Ledger entries without copying their identities. Add context, considered options, consequences and a source to a decision. Request review of an exact version; the assigned reviewer, or the workspace owner/admin when no reviewer is set, can approve reviewed work. Later edits create a new draft while retaining the recorded approved baseline.

S.A.G.E. provides a source-based briefing from the items the requesting member can access. It shows pending reviews, overdue tasks, recorded risks, approved baselines and linked activity. Generated answers and autonomous agents are not enabled. Workspace search includes document content, slide text and cell text from accessible objects.

## Access, roles and current boundaries

Owners manage workspace roles and removal. Owners, admins and editors create/edit shared work. Commenters leave feedback and participate in conversations. Viewers read. A workspace admin cannot read another author’s Only me item solely because they administer the workspace. A removed member loses workspace access; a removed or changed account cannot use a late response to retarget a save.

Office is the everyday productivity suite. STATIC Mail remains email, STATIC Connect supplies team calling, and other STATIC products retain their own boundaries. Forms, Whiteboard, advanced rich editing and broader conference features remain roadmap work. This guide describes the first release, not complete Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 parity.
